“TRAM” drag and drop

The proposal “TRAM” transfers virtuality into real urban space.  The representation of a typical Zürich streetcar within Google Earth (3D mode) is designed as a sculpture and set up in it’s original size (36 x 3.6 x 2.4 m). The concept is an extension of the series of works “Public Spaces Seen through the Eyes of Google Earth”, which has been on display since 2018. For the first time, an object is not only created as a model, as in the series « 3D-Google-Earth-Models », but on a scale of 1:1. The streetcar sculpture is cast out of high-performance concrete. It’s informal structure can be used by the people of Zurich. It will be placed exactly at the location where it was virtually photographed in  the Google Earth app (2019) : the « Tramdepot Hardbrücke »
